Position Summary:Plan, organize, and provide managerial direction to all personnel performing warehousing, inventory control, production control, traffic, and to aid in the importing and exporting functions to effectively interface with peers throughout the organization to provide operational excellence and to bring resolution to operational and procedural concerns.Primary Responsibilities:1. Oversee day-to-day operations Texas and Mississippi warehousing and distribution functions: 40%

  • Ensure that all warehousing and distribution functions provide a best in class service to internal and external customers.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, FAA, ATF, Environmental, and all other regulations.
  • Develop and manage department budgets to minimize expenses and optimize cost savings concepts. Coordinate and track operational expense. Compile and prepare budget analysis and report results.
  • Ensure that the distribution facilities operate in compliance with all FTZ / Import regulations and related company procedures.
  • Interface with peers to coordinate inbound and outbound traffic.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure best in class support of internal and external customers.
  • Recommend to management plans of action regarding the proper handling of materials with specific handling requirements, i.e. explosives, hazardous materials, shelf-life items, etc.
  • Insure that accurate order fulfillment shipments are completed within established priority standards to meet internal or external customer expectations and requirements.
  • Monitor activities to insure the accomplishment of company goals and objectives.
  • Control any government or customer furnished property or equipment entrusted to any AHI warehouse facility.2. Personnel Management: 30%
    • Be present to support all staff members.
    • Develop, monitor and measure individual and team performance metrics to ensure maximum efficiencies are met and individual performance is measured fairly and the same across functions.
    • Encourage the engagement of the team members and teams.
    • Recognize good performance, correct performance concerns.
    • Direct the development of personnel within the organization. Develop on-boarding and ongoing training plans to ensure staff is adequately trained to perform the required tasks as well as ensuring individuals are developed and grow within the organization.
    • Forecast manpower and equipment required to meet business needs.
    • Insure after-hours and weekend support is available to respond to AOG and other critical requirements.
    • Conduct periodic performance evaluations; make recommendations for promotion, salary changes, transfers, hiring and corrective actions to include terminations.3. Corrective action and process improvement: 20%
      • Imagine, design, develop and implement new material handling concepts to increase efficiency and to optimize the space utilized for storage.
      • Design, install and implement warehouse and inventory control programs that effectively reflect accurate status of inventories on a continual and real-time basis.
      • Manage corrective actions needed related to customer escapes, employee performance using tools such as plan-do-check-act, 5-whys, etc.
      • Operate in a mindset of continuous improvement4. Service Provider and outside agency: 10%
        • Manage the operational relationships with external service providers and contractors.Additional Responsibilities:

            • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience requiredPreferred:

                • A minimum of 10 years' experience within an operational, production, material planning, warehousing or material distribution environment.
                • Minimum of 5 years of that experience within a supervisory and/or management role.Preferred:
                  • Experience within an FTZ environment or within an import influenced environment.
                  • Experience with US ATF regulations.Licensure/Certifications:Required:
                    • Certification in Logistics related fieldPreferred:
