Summary The Sonographer Quality Coordinator performs basic to
advanced ultrasound services for adults. Works with the medical
director, medical staff, and technical staff to ensure quality
care. Monitors and ensures clinical imaging compliance with
federal, state, and local regulations. Achieves quality standards
for the echocardiography departments. Essential Functions of the
Role Assures clinical compliance with appropriate regulatory,
federal, state, and local agencies. Works with staff, operational
leadership, and physicians to ensure overall imaging professional
compliance. Works with staff and physicians to find quality
improvement opportunities, solve problems, and evaluate changes.
Serves as a consultant to physicians and staff on quality and
performance improvement. Develops and maintains quality control
processes and tools to ensure all ultrasound departments meet
established standards. Assists in the development of operational
policies and procedures related to echocardiography quality
standards and clinical compliance. Accountable for the development
of advanced ultrasound training programs including pathways to
fellowship. Responsible for developing and delivering ultrasound
training and education for departments, nursing staff, physicians,
and students. Facilitates lab accreditation per IAC. Performs
duties and responsibilities of the technical staff. Use basic to
advanced ultrasound procedures with various equipment and
techniques. Make necessary measurements for accurate, high-quality
results. Identify and define abnormalities. Extend the examination
scope appropriately, deviating from standard techniques when
needed. Correlate invasive and noninvasive test results with
ultrasound anatomy and function. Key Success Factors Knowledge and
ability to apply complex sonographic methods, instrumentation and
techniques. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, including complex
pathology and critical thinking skills. Ability explaining the
purpose of the ultrasound examination to the patient and answering
patients' questions Knowledge of proper infection control,
including precautionary procedures Knowledge of applicable federal
and state requirements relating to accreditation standards for
relevant ultrasound specialty. Ability to interact and communicate
effectively - both orally and in writing -with healthcare
providers, including other sonographers, physicians, and nurses
Skilled utilization of computers and medical equipment Possess
excellent methodical skills and can create charts, graphs, and
presentations using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Stay
informed about innovation in medical imaging technology,
safety-focused products, and current practice issues and trends in

serve. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION - Grad of an Accredited Program or
2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
EXPERIENCE - 4 Years of Experience
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS
or BLS within 30 days of hire/transfer. Adv Cardiac Sonographer
(ACS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Reg Diag Cardiac
Sonographer (RDCS), Reg Diag Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered
Vascular Sonographer (RVS), Registered Vascular Tech (RVT): Must
have ONE of the following: RDCS or RDMS or RVT through ARDMS or RCS
or ACS or RVS through CCI. Employment Type: Full Time
