Plan, steer, and coordinate daily tasks in nursing service administration. Create policies and procedures to achieve department priorities. /n Essential Functions of the Role /n /n - You will manage and oversee daily business and administrative operations with an emphasis on providing patient-centered care. /n - Guide and teach your team. Ensure compliance with regulations. /n - You are expected to apply Lean methods to enhance practice and patient care. /n - You'll help plan the staffing budget, as well as the equipment and expense budget for the year. /n - You must update staff on patients, especially those in critical condition. Report staffing and unexpected events. /n - You will build good relationships with department staff, patients' families, doctors, and external groups. This helps with communication, problem-solving, and improving patient care quality. /n - Prepare reports, maintain records and files, and manage equipment and inventory. Also, maintain a database for generating reports when needed. /n /n Key Success Factors /n /n - Understanding medical terms, promoting health, managing illness and disease, knowing common medications, dosages, effects, and side effects is important. /n - Excellent communication skills for effectively expressing thoughts both verbally and in writing. /n - Interpersonal skills to engage effectively with various constituencies. /n - Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. /n - Aptitude to guide the work of supervised staff in line with established guidelines, policies and procedures. /n - Ability to evaluate performance and conduct training of supervised staff. /n - Ability to observe and communicate patient's medical changes with nursing staff and doctors effectively. /n - Essential computer skills include MS Office, email, security, scheduling, payroll systems, and electronic medical records for efficiency in tasks. /n /n Belonging Statement /n We believe that all people should feel welcomed, valued and supported, and that our workforce should be reflective of the communities we serve. Qualifications /n /n - Associate's degree in Nursing /n - At least (3) three years of relevant experience in the nursing field - PREFERRED: 3 years of critical care exp (PCU, ICU, and/or ED) /n - Registered Nurse /n - Have Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support accreditation. Or, have the ability to acquire it within the first 30 days of employment. /n /n
