Medical Assistant Location: Frisco, TX Agency: Pride Health Pay: $18 to $23 per hour Shift Information: 5 days x 8 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client's medical facility, located in Frisco, TX 75033. This is a 3 month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance). and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organisation! Specific Duties: Performs all duties within the scope of a Medical Assistant's practice. Operates diagnostic equipment (cannot interpret tests), removes staples from superficial wounds, changes wound dressing and obtains cultures, administers non-intravenous medication, performs simple specimen collection via noninvasive techniques and collects blood specimens via venipuncture or via capillary Performs EKGs. Performs quality control checks on equipment. Prepares and sterilizes medical equipment using the autoclave Rooms patients according to policy and procedures, prepares patients for examination Records patient care documentation in the medical record accurately and promptly Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians, company standards and policies Respects patient confidentiality at all times and treats patients with courtesy and respect Organizes exam and treatment rooms, stocks and cleans rooms and sterilises instruments Practices standard infection control precautions Telephone and in-person screening limited to intake and gathering of information without requiring the exercise of judgment based on clinical knowledge Supports and follows Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO) Performs all other related duties as assigned Qualifications: 1 years of preferred experience Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification High school diploma or equivalent BLS Certification Must have qualifications/experience: High school graduate or GED equivalent Experience working in a clinical office setting Comfortable with EMR system (EPIC) Proven knowledge of medical terminology Handling patient calls and are comfortable speaking to patients in person Demonstrated basic computer literacy with intermediate Excel skills Additional Information: Location: 9255 Dallas Pkwy Suite 110, Frisco, TX 75033 Job Type: 4 months contract to Hire Schedule: - Monday through Friday Shift start & end times: 7am-4pm; 8am-5pm Workdays per week: 5 days Pay Range: $20-23/hrs. on W2 without benefits *Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
