Seasonal Program Requirements – Seasonal PRN Status with a
Full-Time Nights Schedule – Program Runs 9/21/25 to 4/4/26
Emergency Department Specialty Rate: $62/hr plus applicable
differentials Program Details: - All seasonal RNs are required to
work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal
period - Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to
another facility that has an emergent staffing need - Four (4)
weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period - During
the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work
two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee)
- Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first
call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital - Seasonal
Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and
retirement contribution per the PRN policy - Seasonal Staff will
not be eligible for extra shift bonuses - Registered Nurses who are
in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the
clinical competency evaluation - Current employees are not eligible
to join the Seasonal Program for 2025-26 - Current employees of HWS
are not eligible for the seasonal program - Shifts may vary based
on the needs of the department Job Summary and Qualifications The
Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality,
patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific
requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and
standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In
collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care
team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and
compassionate care using established nursing models such as
“Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate
for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the
organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled
patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall
departmental performance. - Assesses patient pain regularly to
promote effective pain management, including reassessments after
appropriate intervention. - Performs procedures, monitoring, or
other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents
the administration of care in the patient medical record in a
timely and thorough manner. - Performs exceptional care by
responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate
patient needs and resolve them proactively. - Teaches
patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition,
patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side
effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical
terminology to ensure complete understanding. - Teaches
patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up
measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention,
and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and
families/caregivers for future self-management. What qualifications
you will need: - Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within
90 days of employment start date - Basic Cardiac Life Support must
be obtained within 30 days of employment start date - PALS
Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of
employment start date - Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained
within 1 year of employment start date - (RN) Registered Nurse -
Associate Degree - Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, or Satori
Alternatives Manag Aggr must be obtained within 1 year of
