Job Description:
Methodist Health System is currently looking for Certified
Surgical Technicians (PRN) to join our dedicated healthcare team
across Texas. The selected candidates will be instrumental in
supporting surgical teams before, during, and after surgery,
maintaining sterile environments, and ensuring that all operations
comply with requisite standards. This PRN position offers
flexibility and a dynamic work environment within a leading
healthcare institution renowned for its high-quality care and
patient-centered approach. You will work collaboratively with
surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare
professionals to facilitate surgical operations and contribute to
life-saving procedures. Prepare and maintain sterile operating
environments before, during, and after surgical procedures. Assist
in setting up surgical equipment, draping and preparing the
surgical site. Operate sterilizers, lights, suction machines, and
other technical equipment during surgical procedures. Pass
instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgical
assistants. Keep count of sponges, needles, and instruments to
ensure nothing is left inside a patient. Assist in applying
dressings and other post-operative materials. Adhere to all safety
guidelines and standards, including infection control procedures.
Proficiency in sterilization techniques Knowledge of surgical
instruments and supplies Ability to operate surgical equipment
Strong organizational skills for maintaining sterile field and
accounting for surgical instruments Effective communication skills
with the ability to work under pressure Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Certified Surgical
Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and
Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
required.
