About the Role:

Provides legal support services to attorneys in the form of basic legal research, drafting of legal and business communications, and general file management.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare standard checklists, templates, and policies and maintain the contract database.
  • Proofread documents and contracts. This includes brokerage contracts, agreements, amendments, nondisclosure agreements, retention agreements, etc.
  • Coordinate contract documents for execution. Evaluate and mitigate complex contractual risks.
  • Verify all legal documents and correspondence are filed by the respective deadline.
  • Transcribe written and dictated legal documents and correspondence.
  • Review legal bills and mail for processing and distribution.
  • Prepare and proofread documents, correspondence, memoranda, briefs, summons, complaints, and motions.
  • Schedule and maintain calendars of Sr. Counsel. This includes appointments, meetings, trials, and court dates. Coordinate travel and related arrangements.
  • Answer all incoming escalated inquiries and ad hoc requests.
  • Work under deadlines and be productive in fast-paced environments with multiple competing priorities.
  • Mentor Paralegals and more junior colleagues.
  • Resolve complex problems and identify appropriate approaches to existing solutions to accomplish team objectives.
  • May establish new techniques to ensure the team is able to meet its objectives.
  • Has a direct impact on the team objectives as well as the objectives of related teams.
  • Ensure personal and team outcomes have a positive impact on customer objectives.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Guide team through the application of basic knowledge of practices and procedures. Work to build consensus.

    What You'll Need:
    • High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of job-related experience. Relevant experience to be in litigation, law firm, corporate legal dept, etc. A paralegal certificate from a school approved by the American Bar Association (ABA). Preferred candidate has Certified Legal Assistant designation or passed the Paralegal Advanced Competency Exam.
    • In-depth understanding of a range of processes, procedures, systems, and concepts within own job function and basic knowledge of related job functions required.
    • Requires the ability to explain complex concepts or sensitive information.
    • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
    • Excellent organizational skills with a master-level inquisitive mindset. Exceptional math skills. Ability to calculate sophisticated figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
