General Summary: A nonexempt position responsible for responding to appointments and following through on customer inquiries, issues, and concerns in a timely and accurate manner.Essential Job Responsibilities:Responds to telephone inquiries relating to the medical practice's policies and procedures.Schedule new patient appointmentsEnsure we obtain correct or updated information on the patient.Responds to patient inquiries, assistance on which department to speak with etc.Uses customer service principles and techniques to deal with patients calmly and pleasantly.Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively.Schedules appointments for patients either by phone when they call in or in person. If medical practice offers after-hours/one-day appointments, schedules these appointments following urgent/emergency protocols as in the case of work-in urgent appointments.Uses manual/computerized system to match physician/clinician availability with patient's preferences in terms of date and timeEducation: High school diploma or equivalent. Some college is preferred
