Shift Details: Full-time nights, 3-12 hour shifts, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am


Weekend Requirement: 4-weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period -


Experience Requirements: 2 years of nursing experience, 1 years of PCU experience -

PCU Oncology -


Patient Population: PCU/SDU, Med/Surg Oncology, Chemo, Postop surgery (breast, bladder, lung, colon, and crani), Cardiac drips, Palliative Care (end of life and hospice support) -


Patient Ratios: 1:4 for PCU and Chemo; 1:5 for Med/Tele -


Number of Beds: - 20 beds -


Department Specifics: Active Unit Based Council, Pharmacist and Social Worker on the unit during the day to partner with nurses in patient care, Multidisciplinary Team that works together, Chemotherapy training is required within the first 90 days.     Job Summary
    As a Registered Nurse, will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. -

    • You, as an RN, will conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
      
    • Building relationships, managing discomfort, staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
      
    • Creating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues.
      
    • You will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
      
    • Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
      
    • You'll use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
      
    • Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth. Contribute to peers' development, show community service commitment.

      • A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.

        • Specialized field of study should be nursing.
          
        • A current and valid nursing license.
          
        • Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
